About the Role

This is a contract video editor position supporting a growing creative production company. You will be responsible for editing short-form and long-form content across various client projects, following established brand guidelines and creative direction.

This role is ideal for someone who is technically skilled, highly organized, and able to execute efficiently while maintaining strong storytelling instincts.

You will work remotely, collaborate on revisions, and deliver final files within agreed timelines. Consistency, communication, and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

As a Contract Video Editor, you will be responsible for:

• Editing short-form social content (Reels, TikToks, vertical videos)

• Editing longer-form brand or YouTube content as assigned

• Following detailed creative briefs and brand style guidelines

• Executing clean cuts, strong pacing, and intentional storytelling

• Incorporating music, sound design, captions

• Applying basic color correction and professional color grading

• Delivering projects within agreed turnaround timelines

• Implementing revisions efficiently and professionally

• Organizing project files clearly and maintaining proper file structure

• Uploading and delivering final exports in required formats

Qualifications

• Must have an active Adobe OR DaVinci Resolve subscription

• 2+ years of professional video editing experience

• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (DaVinci Resolve a plus)

• Strong understanding of pacing, storytelling, and emotional flow

• Experience editing short-form social content (Reels, TikTok, vertical video)

• Professional color correction and color grading

• Ability to follow creative direction while maintaining attention to detail

• Strong file organization and workflow management skills

• Reliable communication and ability to meet deadlines consistently

• Access to high-speed internet and ability to transfer large files

Important Information

This is a U.S.-based contract role for freelance editors - applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation is hourly and determined by experience and skill level.

This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not salaried or full-time employment.

Contractors are responsible for managing their own taxes and business operations.
